Administrative Health Specialist

Start your new career in as little as 9 short months!

The Administrative Health Specialist program will train you to work in a professional environment by gaining the expertise to help run a medical office.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, people in Administrative Health careers should enjoy job security for years to come.

In the Administrative Health Specialist program you will:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of medical administrative topics in a variety of areas, from health insurance and electronic medical records (EMR) to medical transcription and CPT coding.
  • Learn the rights of the patients and an understanding of how computer technologies are so crucial in this field including relevant training in Microsoft applications.
  • Prepare to work in a professional environment and play an important role as a member of today's insurance and medical teams.
  • Receive Ongoing Placement Assistance. Each PCI campus has full-time Career Services Advisors dedicated to helping all of our graduates find that job that is just right for them.

The health claims field continues to be one of the fastest-growing career opportunities in the health care field. This means that jobs will keep growing, and the career potential looks very promising in the coming years.

Classes are available either during the day or the evening

  • Morning Administrative Health classes meet for 9 months and consist of 45 credit hours (900 classroom and lab hours) of instruction. The attendance schedule is Monday through Thursday from 8:10 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. (No afternoon class).
  • Evening classes meet for 15 months and consist of 45 credit hours (900 classroom and lab hours) of instruction. The attendance schedule is Monday through Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
