Electronics Systems Technician

Start your new career in as little as 12 short months!

The Electronics Systems Technician program prepares you to obtain employment for entry-level positions in electronics technology and the low voltage industry. This program provides you with training in the technology used to build and maintain today’s modern electronic devices, particularly in the areas of security, medical equipment and office equipment. You’ll learn basic electronics and electrical circuits to the latest use of lasers and fiber optics for use in data and voice communications.

This program provides you with training in the technology used to build today's modern electronic devices, particularly in the area of security. You'll learn basic electronics and electrical circuits to the latest use of lasers and fiber optics for use in data and voice communications.

In the Electronics Systems Technician program you will:

  • Learn how to install, maintain and troubleshoot burglar alarm systems and biometrics security, closed circuit TV and fire alarm systems.
  • Develop an understand of WiFi, phone systems, VoIP and home automation, and how to maintain and trouble shoot these systems.
  • Prepare to take the C-6, L-6 and T-1 license exams to become a certified low voltage journeyman.
  • Terminate and test the latest in fiber optics technology for use in data and voice communications.
  • Receive Ongoing Placement Assistance. Each PCI campus has full-time Career Services Advisors dedicated to helping all of our graduates find that job that is just right for them.

Classes are available either in the morning, afternoon, or evening:

  • Morning and afternoon Electronics Systems Technician classes meet for 12 months and consist of 76 credit hours (1284 classroom and lab hours) of instruction. The attendance schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. or 12:45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.
  • Evening classes meet for 18 months and consist of 76 credit hours (1284 classroom and lab hours) of instruction. The attendance schedule is Monday through Thursday from 6:15 p.m. to 10:55 p.m.
